Affinity Plus to Expand Metro Footprint with Richfield Branch

ST. PAUL Minn. (March 29, 2024) – Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union (Affinity Plus) today announced plans to open a new branch in Richfield, located at 7610 Lyndale Ave. S, Suite 800. The expansion of the credit union’s metro presence will provide easy access to a full service banking experience, in addition to the credit union’s top-rated mobile banking options, to over 6,600 existing members within a 5-mile radius. Affinity Plus members enjoy a wide variety of services, including better than free checking accounts, low rates on auto loans and high yield savings accounts. 

“As a Minnesota-based credit union, ensuring we provide our members with access to branches in and around the Twin Cities, while also being deeply invested in communities across the state, is incredibly important,” said Amber Shanley, director of branch services. “While our current members love the ease of using our app and website, they’ve also told us that they like the option of a close, in-person branch to meet with our incredible staff face-to-face. Expanding our branch network into Richfield represents not just growth, but our dedication to making banking both accessible and personal, ensuring our members have the comprehensive support they need, however they need it.”

The Richfield location is the second of three planned branch openings this year. The credit union opened a new branch in Virginia in January, and has plans to open an additional branch in Shakopee in the fall. 

As a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative that values people over profit, Affinity Plus is focused on supporting the communities that it’s a part of. Beyond saving members millions in its fee restructure, and offering services like early pay, which allows members to access paychecks up to two days early, the credit union also partners with several charities of choice to help build up communities across the state.  

Affinity Plus plans to hold a grand opening event for the new Richfield branch this summer. The branch is currently seeking candidates for its branch leader position.
