April is Financial Literacy Month, and what better to exemplify our dedication to financial education than our partnership with Junior Achievement North.
Junior Achievement North is a program that integrates financial education, career readiness, and entrepreneurial curriculum into students’ education. Affinity Plus and Junior Achievement started our strong partnership in 2022, and in 2023, the Affinity Plus Foundation donated $40,000 with the goal of expanding access to financial education for nearly 20,000 students across Minnesota.
Our partnership also led to the Affinity Plus Philanthropy Center at Junior Achievement BizTown – an in-person experience that has students run and work in a simulated city called BizTown. This gives students the chance to discover careers, learn and build financial skills, collaborate with classmates, invest in the community, and more. Annually, the space serves more than 19,000 students from across the state.
Affinity Plus also sent more than 30 volunteers across the state bringing the Junior Achievement curriculum into classrooms over the course of 6-8 weeks to teach students about financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship. And the program is thriving!
Junior Achievement North prepares young people with the skillset and mindset to build empowered communities. Together, we can build brighter futures!
