Current Board Members

Ron Rollins

Ron Rollins

Board Chair

Ron Rollins has served on the Board of Directors since 2008. For the past thirty years, he has worked as a labor lawyer in Minneapolis, representing diverse unions and assisting them with negotiations and administration of their contracts. Past community experiences include serving as a board member for a Minneapolis neighborhood association and The Labor Arbitration Institute. Rollins attended Bowdoin College in Maine, followed by two years of service in the Peace Corps. He then attended law school at the University of Wisconsin.

Robyn Cousin

Robyn Cousin

Board Vice Chair

Robyn Cousin joined the Affinity Plus Board of Directors in 2015. She is currently a business representative with Middle Management Association (MMA), an independent unaffiliated public employee union which represents almost 2,900 supervisors employed by the State of Minnesota. Prior to joining MMA, Cousin had a long career in public education in the Minneapolis Public Schools, managing the district’s community partner and volunteer programs. She has also served on several boards of non-profit organizations, on the local, state, and national levels. Cousin holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial education and a Master of Education degree in vocational education, as well as several certifications.

Karen Foreman

Karen Foreman joined the Board of Directors in 2013. She is currently serving a four-year term as a Mankato City Council member, representing Ward One around East High School and Washington and Kennedy Elementary Schools. Foreman is also currently serving as chair of the Highway 14 Partnership. Foreman previously has a 30-year career with the State of Minnesota as a senior administrative staff support manager in higher education at Minnesota State University Mankato and Minnesota State University Moorhead. Foreman is active in AFSCME and served as a local President, as President of AFSCME MnSCU Policy Committee for 10 years, and was a member of the Council 5 Executive Board.

Margaret Egan

Ms. Egan is joined the Affinity Plus Board of Directors in 2017 after serving for seven years as a volunteer of the credit union’s Supervisory Committee. Her service includes two years as committee chair. Egan is currently a business analyst with Saint Paul Regional Water Services, and earlier in her career she was a municipal finance officer. She also serves on the board of a Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood association and volunteers as a child advocate in the guardian ad litem program. Egan has a Master’s degree in public administration from the University of Kansas.

Deb Bednarz

Deb Bednarz was appointed to the Board of Directors in November 2018 while concurrently serving as chair of the credit union’s Supervisory Committee. Bednarz has spent more than eight years on the Supervisory committee in the past 15 years. She has more than 20 years of budget and financial experience in the public sector, including positions with the Minnesota State Colleges & University system, the U.S. District Court of Minnesota, and Minnesota Management & Budget. Her passion for credit unions began as Peace Corps volunteer where she worked with village-based credit unions and cooperatives in Lesotho, Africa. She has a Master’s degree from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.

Demetrius Chester

Demetrius Chester joined the Affinity Plus Board of Directors in March 2019. Born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Chester’s career includes operations, marketing, and information technology in the healthcare and financial services industries. He is a Business Engagement Lead with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. Chester has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies and religious studies, and a Master of Arts degree in human services and executive leadership. He is also a Youth Pastor at a church in south Minneapolis.

Connie Roehrich

Connie Roehrich

Director

Connie Roehrich joined the Affinity Plus Board of Directors in 2008 and most recently served as Board Chair. Roehrich worked for the MN Department of Corrections for over 30 years; she served as a warden at three different correctional facilities over the past 20 years. Roehrich has been a member of numerous criminal justice organizations and currently is involved with MN Partners of the America, working closely with the correctional professionals in Uruguay, South America. Roehrich has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bemidji State University in social work and a Master of Science degree from Mankato State University in sociology.

Karen Snorek

Director

Karen Snorek joined the Affinity Plus Board of Directors in 2009. She is the Vice-President of Finance and Administration with Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College. Snorek has 22 years of experience in higher education. Her past board experience includes Hometown Credit Union, Owatonna Early Edition Rotary, and the Affinity Plus Foundation. Snorek is also a member of the Faribault Rotary.

Lori Trygg

Lori Trygg

Director

Lori Trygg joined the Board in 2010 and is the Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer for Constellation, a physician-owned medical professional liability insurance group. Trygg has more than 30 years of experience in insurance and financial services. Her professional memberships include the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, the Medical Professional Liability Association, and the Minnesota Association of Corporate Counsel. Volunteer activities have included coaching youth sports and nine years on the Eagan Planning Commission. Trygg received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
