DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION & BELONGING. HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 2025 REPORT.

At Affinity Plus, putting people first isn’t a new idea. From the beginning, we’ve built a financial cooperative rooted in relationships and shared values.

This year’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) report reflects our ongoing commitment to create space where everyone connected to Affinity Plus can bring their full selves into conversations that matter.

People first is our compass. Because when every voice is heard, we move closer to the equitable future we all deserve.

Celebrating Our Diversity

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

The quiet, persistent work of our ERGs fosters belonging and creates spaces for connection. Our newest ERGs—Cultura Elevada Hispanic/Latinix and Veterans, Active Duty & Families—provide unique perspectives and support along with our Working Parents, Elder Caregiver and LGBTQ+ groups.

Supporting Mental Health

Mental health is a frequent topic for all of our ERGs. Supporting mental health at work is critical for employees and our organization.

Investing In Our Communities

New Branches

New branches in Hopkins and Shakopee brought our accessible, community-based services to even more Minnesotans.

Real-Time Payments for Fund Access

We launched a new real-time payment service allowing members to securely receive instant payments from a diverse range of financial institutions across the U.S.

Albert Lea Merger

Affinity Plus and City & County Employees Federal Credit Union of Albert Lea merged providing members there with an expanded range of financial products and services, including mortgages and new lending and savings options.

Feeding Hungry Minnesotans

We partnered with Second Harvest Heartland and Feeding America Food Banks, joining their Kitchen Coalition program helping food banks provide fresh, culturally appropriate options for Minnesota families.

SPOTLIGHTING UNIQUE STORIES

Addiction Recovery

October is National Substance Abuse Awareness Month. We asked employees to share how substance abuse impacted their lives. One employee shared an inspiring, personal story of how addiction stole years, but recovery gave him a new purpose.

Immigration Journey

National Immigrants Day is celebrated on October 28 to honor the contributions of immigrants to American society. We’re proud to have team members whose personal experiences enrich our workplace. One such employee shared her immigration story toward becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Military Child

There are approximately 1.6 million children of military parents in the U.S. On April 15, our Veterans, Active Duty & Families ERG invited colleagues to wear purple and share their stories of being a child of military service members.

LGBTQ+ Statewide Pride

In 2025, we celebrated PRIDE Across the State to raise LGBTQ+ awareness in communities across Minnesota. With five branches already signed on and many more expressing interest, this outreach reflects our commitment to inclusion—no matter your ZIP code.
