There are new updates to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) system, and we have the information and resources you need to stay up to date and informed this fall.
The Department of Education has announced a phased application rollout approach for the 2025-26 academic school year. The update applies to first-time and returning applicants for FAFSA.
The 2025 - 2026 FAFSA will be launched in a phased rollout, beginning in October with a Testing Period to uncover and fix issues prior to nationwide release and availability to all borrowers in December.
While the system is refined for the December launch, incoming college freshmen should continue to apply for local and national scholarships and grants. Students should learn by the following spring about their determined levels of free and federal financial aid, and if they have any funding gaps, we can help with private student loans.
We’ve partnered with Credit Union Student Choice to bring student lending resources and affordable student loan options to Affinity Plus members. On November 6, CU Student Choice will be hosting 2 webinars, exclusively covering all FAFSA topics in preparation of December.
