Who Registers for Digital Banking

After the digital banking upgrade, Business Owners and other Authorized Signers will register for digital banking as new users, and create their own separate logins. Everyone who registers will need the Business Member Number and the business Tax ID number.

Specific & Limited Permissions for Other Staff

Owners and Authorized Signers will be able to invite other staff members as sub-users, and assign them specific permissions, like:

• View Statements and Accounts
• Mobile Check Deposit
• View External Accounts
• Limited days and times of access
• And more

ACH, Bill Pay, and Wire Transfer permissions won’t be available (at least in the near future).

How to Assign Permissions

Once registered in the new digital banking system, the Owner and Authorized Signers can invite sub-users.

Owner/Authorized Signer steps:

1. Go to Manage Users
2. On the Roles screen, create a role with the access of your choice
3. On the Sub-users screen, click "Authorize a new sub-user"
4. Enter their info, and assign them a Username (which you'll need to give them later)
5. Pick where their temporary password should go – to their phone as a text, or to their email
6. Assign a role that's been created on the Roles screen
7. Note any hours or day-of-week access restrictions
8. The system texts or emails them their temporary password
9. You’ll need to tell the employee what their Username is

Sub-user steps:

1. Get your Username from the Owner or Authorized Signer who set up your access
2. Log in to digital banking with your Username and temporary password that was texted or emailed to you
3. Complete MFA (multifactor authentication)
4. Accept the Digital Banking User Agreement
5. Create a new Password

How to Change Permissions

Business Owners and Authorized Signers can make changes anytime from the Manage Users tab.

You’ll Need to Set These Up Again

Though the new digital banking system will have the same card control and card alert options as the old system, your current settings won’t carry over. So you’ll need to set up any desired card controls and alerts again in the new system.

Frozen Cards Will Be Unfrozen 

Like all the other card controls, “freeze” will be turned off by default when we switch over to the new system. If your card is currently frozen (inactive), it will automatically be unfrozen (made active) until you refreeze it in the new digital banking system.

How to Change Your Settings

Card Controls & Alerts will look a little different in the new system. To get there, you’ll go to your account details screen and click on Card Services. After you register for “Advanced Card Controls,” you'll be able to set those and also your “Advanced Card Alerts."

Timing

• On 1/27, all currently active card controls and alerts in digital banking will be turned off.
• Starting 1/28, you can set up your desired card controls and alerts in the new digital banking system.

All foreign students and international members, no matter if you’re a Primary or Joint owner, will need our help getting into the new digital banking system the first time. Please either contact us, or visit 1 of our branches, so we can set you up.

If you’re a Joint owner, you’ll register for digital banking as a new user, and create your own login – but only if you’re a Joint owner on the whole membership.

Not sure if you’re Joint on the whole membership?

You can find out by looking at 1 of your Affinity Plus banking account statements. If your name appears up by the address, under the Primary owner’s name, then you’re Joint on the whole membership. You’ll be able to register for digital banking, and create your own login.

If your name doesn’t appear up by your address on the banking account statement, and only appears down by specific accounts or loans, then you aren’t named on the whole membership.

Digital banking will REQUIRE that you’re on the whole membership

If your name doesn’t appear up by your address on the banking account statement, and it only appears down by specific accounts or loans, then you aren’t named on the whole membership. And you won’t be able to access the new digital banking system.

How to get added to the whole membership

To change the level of Joint ownership, you and the Primary owner just need to contact us together, so that we can verify both of your identities. We can help you both over the phone, over a video call, or in person at a branch.

To register for digital banking as a new user, you’ll need your Member Number.

If you don't know what it is, you can contact us, and we’ll look it up for you.

Do you share a Personal (not Business or Specialty) membership with someone, and you aren’t sure if you’re the Primary owner or the Joint? You can find out by looking at 1 of your Affinity Plus account statements. If you’re Primary on the membership, your name will appear up by the address. And if there are 2 names by the address, the Primary owner is always listed ABOVE the Joint owner.

Changes to Some Recurring Transfers

In the new digital banking system, there will be changes to the types of recurring (repeated) transfers that can be scheduled and processed.

These changes go into effect January 28, 2025.

Which Recurring Transfers Will Be Affected

Transfers between Affinity Plus accounts or loans will only be affected if they’re currently set up like this in Affinity Plus digital banking:

• Recurring transfers advancing funds from a loan to another loan, or from a loan to an account (like your checking account or savings account)
• Recurring Principal-only payments to a loan
• Scheduled frequency of Daily
• Scheduled frequency of Quadri-weekly (every 4 weeks)

Transfers between Affinity Plus and other financial institutions will only be affected if they’re currently set up like this in Affinity Plus digital banking:

•  Daily
• Semimonthly (twice a month)
• Quadri-weekly (every 4 weeks)
• Bimonthly (every 2 months)
• Semiannually (every 6 months)

Which Recurring Transfers WON’T Be Affected

• Transfers with frequencies other than those listed above
• Any payments set up with Bill Pay
• Any payments or transfers set up outside of Affinity Plus digital banking, including direct deposit, utility bills, etc.

How to See What's Scheduled Now

To check if you’ve scheduled any recurring transfers in Affinity Plus digital banking, log in to the current system, then go to Move Money > See Scheduled Transfers.

If Affected Recurring Transfers Are Already Scheduled

• Affected recurring transfers scheduled for January 27 or earlier will be processed as usual.
• Affected recurring transfers scheduled for January 28 or later will NOT be processed.

   

Please Check Your Scheduled Transfers After Jan. 28

If you’ve scheduled any recurring transfers that could be affected by these changes, please log in to the new digital banking system on or after January 28 to see what’s scheduled, and to make any necessary adjustments.

• In the new mobile banking app: Go to Transfer > Transfer Between Accounts > Scheduled
• In the new online banking: Go to Transfer > Scheduled Transfers

You Can Always Make a One-time Transfer

Even if your transfer type can’t be set up as recurring, you can still schedule it with the one-time option.

Frequency Options for Recurring Transfers as of Jan. 28

• Weekly
• Every two weeks
• Monthly
• Quarterly
• Annually

Digital vs. Paper Delivery

Unless you change your delivery preference to paper, you can view these in digital banking:

• Up to 48 months’ worth of account statements, notices, and tax forms
• Up to 24 months’ worth of credit card statements
  

Your setting in the new system will default to digital delivery. But you can change it by going to Statements & Notices > Digital Preferences, and un-checking what you’d like to get in paper form.

How to View Your Digital Statements & Notices

To view your statements, notices, and tax forms in digital banking, log in to online banking or the mobile banking app, and just look for Statements & Notices in the menu.

Notifications

When a new digital statement or notice is available, you’ll be notified by email.

SMS text used to be an option for these notifications. But starting January 28, they’ll be sent by email only.

The App Won’t Work on Older Versions

If you’re on an older version than what’s listed above, your phone or tablet can’t provide adequate information security. And you won’t be able to use the updated Affinity Plus mobile banking app on it.

Threats become more sophisticated over time, and mobile operating systems (iOS and Android) keep up by adding protections to each new version. And when your device is no longer able to make those updates, your data becomes more vulnerable.

We strongly encourage our members to use more current devices, with more advanced security protections.

Who Needs This

If all 3 of these things apply to you, then you’ll log in with your current Username the first time:

• You’re the Primary (not Joint) owner
• Your membership is a Personal membership (not Business or Specialty)
• You’ve registered for Affinity Plus digital banking in the past

If any of those things don’t apply, then you won’t need your current Username to log in. Instead, you’ll register for digital banking as a new user (even if you’ve already been using online banking and/or the Affinity Plus mobile banking app).

If You Forgot It

If you don’t remember your current digital banking Username, first check your Affinity Plus mobile banking app or online banking login screen. You might be able to see your Username there, depending on your device settings.

If you don’t see it there, and can’t remember what it is, please contact us for your Username.

Download a Backup File

Before the upgrade happens on January 28, we recommend creating a backup file within QuickBooks/Quicken as a precaution. Please see the instructions below. Once the upgrade is complete, you can re-establish the connection to get things running smoothly again.

By January 26, 2025

• Please back up your data file and download your transactions one last time. Make sure to review your downloaded transactions to ensure nothing was duplicated or missed.
  
• If you don’t save it before this date, your transaction history might not be available after the upgrade.
  

After January 28, 2025

Follow the instructions below to deactivate and reactivate your connection. This will set up your QuickBooks/Quicken accounts with our new system.

If You Use Credit Cards with Intuit 

Our system doesn’t directly support the way Intuit usually processes credit cards, so your transactions won’t import automatically.

As a workaround, you can follow the steps below to reclassify your credit card as a “CREDITLINE” account within Intuit. Once you do that, you’ll be able to import your credit card transactions using both Express Web Connect and Web Connect.

You only need to complete this setup once per credit card account. After that, your transactions will continue to import correctly.

Where to Find & Redeem Your Points

In the new digital banking system, your MyPlus Rewards points are in a different spot.

After logging in to your Affinity Plus mobile banking app or online banking, click into any of your Affinity Plus accounts, and scroll until you see your MyPlus Rewards point balance.

From there, you can redeem your points.

Why Allow Mobile App Permissions

The new Affinity Plus Mobile Banking app requires certain permissions from you to function properly. Examples include the permission to send you notifications, and permission to access your device’s camera for Mobile Check Deposit.

How to Allow These Permissions

The first time you log in to the Affinity Plus mobile banking app, it will prompt you to allow permissions. If you deny them at that point, you can later allow them, but you’ll need to do it here in your phone or tablet:

Settings > Apps > Affinity Plus > App Permissions

Everyone Starts from the Login Screen

The Login screen is where you log in, and also where you register as a new user.

Logging in vs. Registering

Many previous digital banking users will need to register as a new user. Whether you should register as a new user, or instead log in, depends on your situation.

Who Should Click “Log In”

If ALL 3 of these things apply to you, then you should log in with your current Username the first time:

• You’re the Primary (not Joint) owner; and
• Your membership is a Personal membership (not Business or Specialty*); and
• You’ve registered for Affinity Plus digital banking in the past

* Specialty includes Trust, Conservatorship, Representative Payee, Estate, and UTMA accounts.

If any of those things DON’T apply to you, then you should register as a new user.

Who Should Click “Register for digital banking”

Even if you used the previous digital banking system, you should register as a new digital banking user if ANY of these things apply to you:

• You’re the Joint owner on the whole membership; or
• You’re a Business Owner or Authorized Signer; or
• You have a Specialty account (Conservatorship, Representative Payee, Estate, and UTMA); or
• You’re the Parent or Guardian on a Minor’s membership
