ST. PAUL, MINN. (April 4, 2022) – The Affinity Plus Foundation is pleased to announce a new and inclusive statewide partnership with Junior Achievement North to empower K-12 students with financial literacy through a special curriculum and volunteer program. Junior Achievement is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart economic choices.

The Affinity Plus Foundation made an initial $18,000 donation to Junior Achievement North. The donation will cover curriculum for more than 80 classrooms in more than 20 communities where Affinity Plus has presence. The mission of Junior Achievement North strongly aligns with Affinity Plus' desire to make financial literacy and entrepreneurship more equitable and accessible across Minnesota.

“This partnership means a lot to us here at Affinity Plus,” said Adam Layne, Senior Community Engagement Specialist, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union. “Working with Junior Achievement North will provide Affinity Plus the opportunity to take our passion for financial literacy beyond our walls and into classrooms across the state of Minnesota. We are thankful for Junior Achievement North and their commitment to bringing students, educators and the business community together to prepare our youth for bright futures that lie ahead.”

In partnership with Junior Achievement North, Affinity Plus has also launched a volunteer initiative this Spring to teach financial literacy and entrepreneurship curriculum to more than 2,000 elementary aged students across Minnesota. Additionally, more than 30 Affinity Plus employees from across the state will volunteer their time this spring to guide local students through the Junior Achievement curriculum in their local communities.

“We are honored to be partnering with Affinity Plus to serve our community,” said Sara Dziuk, Junior Achievement North President & CEO. “Together, we'll reach more students and expand access to critical programming that builds financial literacy skills, career aspirations, and entrepreneurial tools while also developing creative problem-solving, leadership, and teambuilding skills. These life-long lessons stick with students long after their Junior Achievement experience and help them become the next generation of leaders our communities need to thrive. We are grateful that Affinity understands the importance of investing in young people and puts their company values into action.”
