Affinity Plus Foundation Donates Delivery Truck to Minnesota Tech for Success
The investment will bring tech across the state of Minnesota
ST. PAUL, MINN. (February 16, 2022) –The Affinity Plus Foundation is pleased to announce a recent truck donation to Minnesota Tech for Success. The 26’ delivery truck will bring equitable access to technology throughout the state of Minnesota.
Minnesota Tech for Success’s mission is to create digital equity for students in need by partnering with schools and educational organizations to provide technology access, engaging STEM programming, and IT workforce development in underserved communities.
“At the Affinity Plus Foundation, we’ve been supporting educators and students for years in a number of capacities, but the onset of the pandemic opened our eyes the great disparities our communities are experiencing as it pertains to access to reliable technology for students,” said Adam Layne, Senior Community Engagement Specialist, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union. “Over the past two years, we’ve committed ourselves as partners to Minnesota Tech for Success to help bridge this gap, and make technology more accessible for students who need it the most. This contribution is a huge step in the right direction to get more tech to more schools and students.”
For the last two years, Affinity Plus has partnered with Minnesota Tech for Success (previously known as Minnesota Computers for Schools), to help bridge the digital divide when it comes to access to technology across the state. Through their annual month-long Tech Drive Tuesday events, members of Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union and non-members alike could drop off and donate their unwanted computer equipment, all of which was repurposed for a student, school or community organization in need. This delivery truck will allow Minnesota Tech for Success to more efficiently and effectively both accept technology donations and distribute those donations across the state.
