Making Beautiful Music through Scholarships

When a team is working in harmony, they can really make beautiful music together.

Just ask Rebecca Berth, a 21-year-old Junior at Minnesota State University Moorhead, the 2020 recipient of the $5,000 Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union Scholarship.

Just ask Rebecca Berth, a 21-year-old Junior at Minnesota State University Moorhead, the 2020 recipient of the $5,000 Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union Scholarship.

“Receiving this scholarship gives me confidence that what I have been working for is worthwhile and professionals in the industry see potential in me,” Berth said. “I believe that women in the entertainment industry bring unique values…and I envision myself spreading the female perspective to be a voice for other women.”

Berth, from Oconto, Wisconsin, is an Entertainment Industry and Technology major and an Entertainment Business, Sports Communication and Emphasis Audio Technology minor. Along with being a student-athlete herself, pitching for the softball team, Berth also works with the Go! Team Productions/Dragons Live, broadcasting every university home sporting event online. She also serves as a leadership chair for SoEIT Productions, the on-campus production student organization.

Her award comes as part of 2020 scholarships program from Live Nation, the world’s leading live entertainment company, in partnership with the nonprofit House of Blues Music Forward Foundation, Five outstanding college students pursuing music industry careers were awarded a total of $45,000 in scholarships, and this year’s awards included the dedicated $5,000 award from Affinity Plus.
