Allison Kocak with dogs on a couch
Allison Kocak knows good behavior.

She’s a mom, she’s been a teacher, and now she works professionally with dogs at her business, Companion Acres, so she’s seen it all – the good and the bad. But when it came to banking for her business, she only wanted the best, which is why she turned to Affinity Plus.

“I have zero complaints for as long as I’ve been using Affinity Plus,” Allison said. “I started banking with Affinity Plus when I was 16! So I went to them when I started my business.”

She left teaching to work professionally with dogs because she wanted to spend more time with her kids. And it made more sense financially, especially factoring in daycare costs. Soon, walking and caring for dogs became a full-time job, and the demand grew enough that Allison was able to consider opening a brick-and-mortar dog care facility.

Allison’s whole family banked with Affinity Plus all her life, so she had an idea what to expect when she started business banking accounts here. But she’s continually impressed with the kindness, willingness to answer questions, and constant support she’s felt since she started her new venture.

With Affinity Plus on her team, Allison was able to finance commercial property in 2021 and build Companion Acres. Her business offers boarding, daycare, and bakery treats for the luckiest of the dogs.

Affinity Plus also assisted when someone tried to use counterfeited Companion Acres payroll checks stolen from a mailbox. After being presented with one of the counterfeit checks, a local Member Advisor called Allison directly with her misgivings about the transaction.

“Affinity Plus was 100% there for it,” Allison said. “Affinity Plus has been super helpful and encouraging. In a world where more people are working remotely, it’s definitely a company that connects on a human level.”

She also appreciated the convenience of having all of her accounts at the same institution, which she describes as her “hometown family credit union.”

“It’s super slick to have my personal banking connected to my business banking,” Allison said.
