This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union (“Affinity Plus,” “we,” "our" or “us”, including our third-party service providers) collects, uses and discloses personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”). This Policy applies to Personal Information we collect when you use our website, mobile application, and our online products and services (collectively, the “Services”).

Affinity Plus may change this Policy at any time. The most recent version of this Policy, as indicated by the date at the top of this Policy, will take effect when posted unless otherwise indicated. We will provide you with additional notice if we make material changes to this Policy.

Information We Collect

Information That You Provide to Us

Affinity Plus collects information that you provide when you enter data into an application for new Services or when you use our Services, such as when you: (1) create or use an account; (2) participate in events or promotions; (3) send us questions or comments via e-mail or live chat; (4) apply for a job with us online; (5) fill out surveys; or (6) otherwise communicate with us through or about the Services. The types of Personal Information that you provide may include your name, social security number, account and access card numbers, e-mail address, home or other physical address, telephone number, other contact or identifying information that you choose to provide, and certain electronic data, such as your geolocation, IP address, and device identifier.
Affinity Plus stores, processes and maintains files that you create and/or upload using the Services (as well as previous versions of your files), including Affinity Plus documents that you create and other data related to your application for new Services or use of the Services.

Information About Use of Our Services

Affinity Plus’s servers automatically record certain information about your use of the Services, utilizing persistent and session cookies, web beacons, and pixel tracking technology. For more information about cookies and your choices, please review our Cookie Policy. The information we collect includes the number of logins, actions taken, data displayed or clicked on (e.g., UI elements, links), and other login information (e.g., browser type, IP address, date and time of access, cookie ID, referrer URL, etc.). Affinity Plus may collect automated error reports in the case of software malfunction, and such error reports may contain some or all of your information and may be reviewed to help resolve problems with the Affinity Plus applications or service.
When you participate in a videoconference with us, we may record the session and retain recordings of the session if we notify you that the session is being recorded so that you can opt out.

How We Use the Information We Collect

We use your information collected through our Services for purposes described in this Policy or otherwise disclosed to you on or in connection with our Services. For example, we may use your information to:

  • Operate and improve our Services;
  • Send you advertising or promotional materials, including information about new products, contests, features and enhancements, special offers and other events of interest from Affinity Plus and our select partners;
  • Provide and deliver the products and Services you request, process transactions, and to send you related information;
  • Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts and support and administrative messages;
  • Respond to your comments, questions and requests and provide customer service;
  • Monitor and evaluate trends, usage and activities in connection with our Services;
  • Personalize and improve the Services; and
  • Link or combine with other information we get from third parties to help understand your needs and provide you with better service.

Information Sharing

Affinity Plus may share your Personal Information with third parties in accordance with the practices set forth in our Affinity Plus U.S. Consumer Privacy Notice. We do not and will not sell your Personal Information. We may use or share information to enhance your experience with our Services, to help deliver our ads on your web browser, and to measure advertising campaign effectiveness. We may also share your information as required to meet legal and regulatory obligations.

In addition, we may share aggregated, anonymized non-personal information with third parties. Such information does not identify you individually.

You may have authorized some third-party companies to access your Personal Information and Affinity Plus account data to offer financial information and services such as making payments via a website or mobile application. In addition, you may have allowed these third-party companies to use your Affinity Plus account sign-in credentials in order to provide their services. Please note that some of these third-party companies may use other companies to assist them with providing services or with accessing your Personal Information or account data. Affinity Plus is not responsible for the use or disclosure of any Personal Information or account data accessed by or on behalf of any company or person to whom you provide your Affinity Plus sign-in credentials or account information, and we do not control the privacy, security, or accuracy of your information that may be held by these third-party companies. We are also not responsible for any fees associated with these third-party services.

When you provide your sign-in credentials to your Affinity Plus accounts to a third party, you will be deemed by us to have authorized all transactions or actions initiated by that third party using the access information you provided, whether or not you are aware of the specific transaction or action. Advertising and Analytics Services Provided by Others

We may allow others to provide analytics services and display advertisements for our Services. These providers (for example, Google Analytics) may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, and other tracking technologies which collect information about your use of our Services. This information may be used by us and others to determine the popularity of our Services, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests in the Services and on other websites, apps, and other services, and to better understand your online activity.

You may opt out of interest-based advertising provided by participating ad servers through the Digital Advertising Alliance, the Network Advertising Initiative, or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance. Your Choices and Rights

You have the right to access your information that Affinity Plus has collected from you. You may do so by contacting Affinity Plus using the “Contact Us” information below. You have the right to limit the use and disclosure of your personal data by not providing said information to Affinity Plus or by not using our Services. You may request that Affinity Plus correct, amend, or delete your information where it is inaccurate.

You have several choices with respect to your Personal Information, as follows:

  • If you have created an online account, you may at any time review and/or update the contact information we have for you. Please note that even if you delete information from your account, or deactivate it, we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may also retain cached or archived copies of your information for a certain period of time.
  • You may opt out of receiving promotional emails, text messages, or mail from Affinity Plus by updating your communications preferences, by following the instructions in emails or text messages, or by sending an e-mail to MembershipSupport@affinityplus.org.com. If you opt out, we may still send you transactional or relationship messages, such as emails about your account or updates to our Services.
  • Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of our Services. Children’s Privacy

The Services we provide include youth banking, which may involve the collection and maintenance of personal data about children under 13 (“children” or “child”). Please contact us at MembershipSupport@affinityplus.org with any questions about the collection, use and sharing of the personal data of children, or to request a list of our service providers acting as sub-processors.

The information that we may collect about children, as well as other personal data of children in provision of our Services, only collects the minimal amount of personal data necessary for children to use our Services and includes: name; email; password; phone number; IP address; cookie identifiers; geolocation; standard browser data such as pages visited, duration on each page, and productivity/idleness; analytics data; any personal data contained in messages; any information required in profiles; financial and purchase history; phone usage in connection with data tracked by our youth banking mobile application (the “App”); any information provided in support requests; and other personal data as described in the section above titled “Information Collected and Received”.

The information we may collect about children, as well as other personal data of children, is or may be used for: account creation, user verification, delivery and improvement of the App, transactional emails, customer support, user communication, prevent fraud; detect security incidents; analytics; respond to legal inquiries; terminate accounts; or other usage disclosed above in the section titled “How We Use Your Information”. We may use non-personally-identifiable information to improve the Services and deliver better and more personalized Services.

The information we collect about children is disclosed to: our affiliates, third-party service providers and vendors, other authorized users of the account (e.g., parent/guardian); government and/ or legal requestors as required by law or in connection with child usage, others as necessary (based on the appropriate consent of the parent/legal guardian), and other cases as described above in the section titled “How Share Your Information”.

No child personal data is made available to the public by us without your consent or as disclosed in this Policy.

The parent of a child can review or have deleted the personal data held by the us and refuse to permit its further collection or use. A parent may do so by notifying us through any designated contact mechanism and/or notifying us through the contact information below.

Parental Rights

In addition to the information in the preceding section, parents (including legal guardians) of children have specific rights under the Children Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). These rights with respect to children include:

  • Direct notice to parents and obtain verifiable parental consent, with limited exceptions, before collecting personal data online from children;
  • Give parents the choice of consenting to the collection and internal use and sharing of a child’s information as required by COPPA;
  • Provide parents access to their child’s personal information to review and/or have the information deleted;
  • Give parents the opportunity to prevent further use or online collection of a child’s personal information as required by COPPA;
  • Not condition a child’s participation in an online activity on the child providing more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity.

When you agree to terms referencing this Policy, or consent to this Policy through use of our Services, including the App, you expressly agree to the collection of personal data and other information as described herein and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

To the extent not covered elsewhere, Affinity Plus also collects personal data or other information about parents, including without limitation, name, contact information, account verification details, financial details, consent requirements, and other information reasonably necessary in connection with our Services, including through use of the App.

If you are a California resident, please refer to our California Privacy Notice for additional information about your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018. In certain instances, the disclosures in our California Privacy Notice are applicable to all consumers who interact with us digitally, as we provide the same version of each software application to all consumers.
