Dave Larson is President/CEO of Affinity Plus, a position he has held since 2013. Prior to this, Dave served as Senior Vice President of Affinity Plus for nine years. As CEO, Dave led the effort to strengthen and rebuild the credit union. The success and organizational culture built at Affinity Plus led to Dave’s 2018 recognition by the Star Tribune as “Top CEO” among large companies, and he was also named to Minnesota 500’s list of “Most Powerful Business Leaders in Minnesota.” Under his leadership, Affinity Plus was named a “Top 150 Workplace” and designated “Best Credit Union in Minnesota” by Forbes. Dave has a genuine care for the employees, the credit union’s members, and the communities that Affinity Plus serves. He is the Board Chair of the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Minnesota.
Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer
Brian Volkmann is the Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, a role he has held since May of 2016. In this capacity, he oversees accounting, finance, business performance, investor relations, lending and quality assurance. Brian joined Affinity Plus in 2000 as a branch manager, and during his career he has held various leadership positions within the credit union, most recently as Chief Financial Officer. As a diverse leader in the credit union industry, Brian serves on several boards, both within the credit union industry and the community.
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Julie Cosgrove is the Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union. In this capacity, she oversees the HR functions focusing on the retention, development, and satisfaction of employees, as well as evaluating current compensation and benefits programs. She also leads the Learning & Development team that provides training and education across the organization. In September of 2015, Julie returned to Affinity Plus, having previously worked for the credit union from 2000-2012 and established herself as a prominent leader in a variety of capacities.
Chief Information Officer
Teri Laufers is Chief Information Officer for Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union. She has nearly 30 years of credit union industry experience, joining Affinity Plus in 2014. She leads a growing, evolving team of information technology professionals, with her purview including operations, applications, system administration, software, technical support, testing and development. Teri is an advocate for change and has a strong desire to bring superior technology solutions to Affinity Plus members and employees. She led significant organizational change as the executive sponsor of Affinity Plus’ core processing and digital banking system conversions in 2018. Throughout her career Teri has shared her knowledge and expertise serving on several industry committees, technology councils and software user groups.
Senior Vice President, Lending
Corey Rupp is the Senior Vice President of Lending at Affinity Plus. He joined Affinity Plus in 2004 as a branch manager. In his current capacity, Corey oversees all aspects of lending including consumer, business, student and real estate lending, along with all retail operations which includes the statewide branch network and call centers. During his career, he has led the implementation of new lending platforms, made significant enhancements to mobile lending and completely overhauled the credit union’s lending program. Corey is also a dedicated community leader serving on local chamber, foundation and university boards, and coaching youth athletics.
Senior Vice President, Information Technology
Cary Tonne is the Senior Vice President, Information Technology at Affinity Plus, a role he has held since 2013. In this capacity, he oversees information security, network and systems infrastructure, project management, and the implementation and application of core systems. Cary has broad experience leading technology-focused teams across several industries, including retail, utility, insurance, and consulting. He joined the Affinity Plus team in 2000. Through his involvement in Affinity Plus’ IT department, the credit union has earned national industry recognition, receiving several “best practices” awards.
Chief Operations Officer
Bill Urick is Affinity Plus’ Chief Operating Officer, a role he has held since 2013. Bill joined Affinity Plus in 2006 with a background in commercial banking and served as the Chief Financial Officer for six years. Prior to Affinity Plus, Bill spent nine years at U.S. Bank within the Treasury Management group in operations and product management roles. As COO, Bill leads the credit union’s statewide branch network consisting of nearly 30 locations, and he also oversees card services, compliance, and other operational areas.
