SUPERVALU INC. recently shared that a criminal intrusion on its computer network that processes card transactions occurred in which cardholder data may have been compromised from June 22 through July 17 at the latest.

According to the media release SUPERVALU shared on its website yesterday, the stores that were affected include, “180 SUPERVALU stores and stand-alone liquor stores listed at www.supervalu.com under the Consumer Security Advisory section, operated under the Cub Foods, Farm Fresh, Hornbacher’s, Shop ’n Save and Shoppers Food & Pharmacy banners.  The intrusion may also have resulted in the theft of such cardholder data from some cards used during this period at 29 franchised Cub Foods stores and stand-alone liquor stores, which are included in the store list referenced on the SUPERVALU website.”

Affinity Plus wants you to be assured that although this was not a breach of our internal system, the unauthorized party may have gained access to private information tied to your Affinity Plus Visa credit or debit card if you made a purchase using it at one of these stores from June 22 through July 17. The private information may include account numbers, expiration date, other numerical information and the cardholder’s name.

We are monitoring this situation and will take the necessary action to help you protect your account information.
