St. Paul, Minn. (April 5, 2019) – Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union and its employees continue to invest in Minnesota communities and causes that make a difference. Affinity Plus regularly reviews community by community investments for volunteer and monetary contributions supported by its employees. 

  • Faribault – Affinity Plus in Faribault made a $1,200 donation to Faribault Middle School to pay off lunch debt of school students. Affinity Plus employees presented the check on March 28 to Superintendent Todd Sesker and Middle School Principal Mike Meihak. Affinity Plus of Faribault requested the funds to donate through its community initiative fund.
  • Duluth –The Duluth branch of Affinity Plus will deepen its existing relationship with the City of Duluth Fire Department by assisting with the purchase of a jet ski for water rescue. Previously, Affinity Plus has assisted the fire department with purchasing bicycles for its bicycle EMT unit allowing access to congested areas during Duluth’s frequent festivals.
  • Farmington/Eagan – Affinity Plus in Eagan branch presented $5,000 in community investment funding to Caring Hearts In Action, Minnesota (Caring Hearts) in March. Caring Hearts provides clothing, food and financial assistance to low-income and homeless individuals and families to help bridge the gap for those facing hardship. This funding for Affinity Plus has provided Caring Hearts with the bulk of its annual budget. The organization will use the funds to pay rent on their new storefront in Farmington, buy shelving and displays, purchase pantry items for patrons and host pop-up boutiques in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
