ST. PAUL, Minn. (May 14, 2018) – Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union has been named the “Favorite Financial Institution” in 2018 by Minnesota female consumers.

For more than 20 years, the Minnesota Women’s Press has conducted the “What Women Want” recognition program to honor local businesses.

Businesses named as “favorites” in a variety of categories were nominated by readers of the Minnesota Women’s Press. Honorees received the most votes in its online survey. Affinity Plus’ 2018 recognition reads:

Favorite Financial Institution: Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union
For money matters, you work with Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, which offers insured bank accounts, loans, credit cards – even student services that include an option to finance academic technology purchases! You enjoy locations throughout Minnesota, 24-hour online banking, and member discounts at places like Sprint and Nickelodeon Universe.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognized again by female consumers through the Minnesota Women’s Press awards program,” said Dave Larson, Affinity Plus President/CEO. He cited recent statistics that women today make 89 percent of household financial decisions.

“Clearly female consumers are important to many industries – including banking – and Affinity Plus works hard to provide the member experience they want to help them with their daily banking and reach their overall financial goals,” Larson said.

He added that 70 percent of Affinity Plus employees are female, which includes 66 percent of the organization’s leadership team.

For six of the past seven years, Affinity Plus has been named a favorite in one or more categories in the “What Women Want” awards:

• 2018: Favorite Financial Institution
• 2017: Favorite Place for Personal Banking
• 2016: Favorite Place for Personal Banking
• 2014: Favorite Place for Personal Banking; Favorite Place to Get a Business Loan
• 2013: Favorite Place for Personal Banking; Favorite Place to Get a Business Loan
