ST. PAUL, Minn. (June 21, 2017)
– Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union has named Tara Rutz the manager for its New Hope, Minn., branch, officials said today.
Rutz, a 10-year veteran with the credit union, has worked as a mortgage loan officer in its St. Cloud, Minn., branch since 2007, as well as in several leadership roles guiding teams and projects.
The New Hope branch Rutz will lead is Affinity Plus’ first in the western Twin Cities metro area. It’s currently under construction at 4231 Winnetka Ave. N, and is slated to open later in 2017.
The New Hope branch is part of a 2017 schedule that also includes new or expanded branches in two communities, and renovations to an on-campus university branch.
INSPIRE OTHERS TO DO GREAT WORK
Rutz said the team and branch they’re now building in New Hope will be similar to all Affinity Plus locations in how they welcome current and future members.
“It starts with superb staff excited to come to work. We’ll inspire them to do great work every day on behalf of our members. When we do that, we’ll celebrate with our members as they reach their goals,” Rutz said. “We can’t wait to be in the New Hope community and demonstrate how we’re here for our current and future members.”
Rutz is a superb choice for Affinity Plus’ first western-metro branch, said Dave Larson, Affinity Plus President/CEO.
“She is committed to excelling at the complexities and challenges of running a branch. She has demonstrated her leadership in St. Cloud. And she truly lives our values of caring, excellence and integrity when building lasting relationships with our members.”
Kate Austad, who manages Affinity Plus’ St. Cloud community and on-campus branches, said Rutz has a “unique ability to connect with people. She’ll do a really great job of bringing community action and community service into the New Hope area.”
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
In her mortgage loan officer role, Rutz worked directly with members on all their mortgage needs and worked closely with processors and underwriters to help complete home projects.
She has collaborated with other Affinity Plus real-estate professionals to streamline and improve the credit union’s mortgage-origination process. She also has coordinated branch outreach in St. Cloud, including participating in community events.
Prior to her tenure with Affinity Plus, Rutz was a personal banker from 2006-2007 with U.S. Bancorp, and a mortgage loan originator from 2004-2006 with GSF Mortgage Corporation in Champlin, Minn.
Rutz earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business in 2004 from St. Cloud State University. She and her husband, Jeremy, and their two children live in St. Augusta, Minn.
