Together, in Affinity Plus’ 28 branches across Minnesota, they raised more than $3,900 in one week, and the credit union chipped in an additional $1,000, bringing the total to more than $4,900 in five regular business days, said Dave Larson, Affinity Plus President/CEO.

Month of Giving has been an Affinity Plus fixture for three years. This year's event brought a change in that donors get to decide what matters most in their respective communities, Larson said. The charity that receives the most donations statewide each week receives an additional $1,000 contribution from Affinity Plus.

In Week One, contributors made the most donations to Second Harvest Heartland, “but there's still four weeks to go. That’s plenty of time to help your favorite charity be next week's winner,” he said.
